Every town needs a tourism ambassador. Ours has four legs.

MEET BEASLEY

Beasley is a 6 year old golden doodle who loves an adventure. Whether it's with her mom at the tennis courts, in hometown parades showing her Prowler Pride, or getting her pamper on- she is up for it! Beasley loves pup cups at Scooters and getting sweet treats from McDonalds. She also watches over the farm animals and visits relatives at the local fire station. She loves pontoon rides, walks throughout town and is quite the favorite wherever she goes!

We can't wait to showcase her monthly adventures and hidden gems around Thief River Falls starting in January 2027!

Stay tuned! 🐾

The purpose of these adventures is to showcase Thief River Falls as a destination and encourage residents and visitors to explore the community throughout all four seasons.

8. Monthly Participation

The Dog Ambassador and legal owner are expected to complete one (1) adventure per month for twelve (12) consecutive months.

The monthly requirement begins in January 2027 and concludes in December 2027.

Failure to complete the required monthly participation or submit the required photograph may result in termination of participation in the program and/or selection of an alternate Dog Ambassador, at Visit TRF’s discretion.

9. Event Admission Benefit

When an eligible Visit TRF-related outdoor event requires an admission fee, the legal owner and the winning Dog Ambassador's admission fee may be waived when the Dog Ambassador is participating as part of the program.

Free admission applies only to the legal owner and the winning dog. Additional dog owners, family members, friends, guests, or other individuals are not included and remain responsible for their own admission fees.

Event participation remains subject to the rules, capacity, pet policies, and requirements established by the individual event or venue.

12. Liability and Assumption of Responsibility

The legal owner understands and agrees that participation in the Dog Ambassador program involves activities in public places and interaction with other people, animals, businesses, vehicles, outdoor environments, and other potential hazards.

The legal owner is responsible for their dog and agrees that Visit TRF is not liable or responsible for injuries, bites, accidents, illness, property damage, losses, or other claims, damages, expenses, or legal issues that may occur as a result of or in connection with the dog's participation in the Dog Ambassador program or its adventures throughout the community, except to the extent liability cannot legally be waived.

The legal owner will be required to acknowledge applicable liability, release, and indemnification provisions in the official Dog Ambassador Agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a local resident to submit my dog?

No! Whether you are a local resident or frequently visit Thief River Falls, all are welcome to apply. If you are a visitor, we simply ask that you are able to travel to Thief River Falls once each month from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027, in order to fulfill the Dog Ambassador contract requirements.

If I wanted to attend an outdoor event that requires a fee to get in, would I get in for free?

Absolutely! As part of the Dog Ambassador program, the legal dog owner and the winning dog's admission fee will be waived when attending an eligible outdoor event that requires an admission fee. Please note that free admission applies only to the legal dog owner and the winning dog—not additional owners, family members, or guests.

I have more than one dog. Can all of them be the winning Dog Ambassador?

Unfortunately, we can only have one (1) winning Dog Ambassador for 2027. However, if you have multiple dogs you would like to nominate, you are welcome to submit multiple entries. Each dog must have its own separate entry.

Will I be paid for being the Dog Ambassador?

Unfortunately, no monetary compensation will be provided. However, the winning Dog Ambassador will receive some pretty great perks, including:

  • An official Visit TRF Dog Ambassador bandana
  • A professional photo shoot in Thief River Falls
  • A feature in the 2027 Visit TRF Visitor Guide
  • Features on Visit TRF's social media channels
  • A feature on the Visit TRF website
  • Opportunities to experience and showcase local events, businesses, attractions, trails, parks, and other destinations throughout the community

What does my dog actually have to do to be a Dog Ambassador?

The winning dog's legal owner will be responsible for taking their Dog Ambassador on a monthly adventure throughout Thief River Falls for all twelve (12) months of 2027.

You get to choose the adventure! Take your dog to a local event, business, park, trail, landmark, attraction, or another dog-friendly location in the community. Your dog must wear the official Visit TRF Dog Ambassador bandana, and you will need to take a photo of your dog enjoying each monthly adventure.

The photo must be submitted to the Visit TRF Executive Director by the end of each month.

Does my dog have to visit a specific location each month?

No! One of the fun parts of being the Dog Ambassador is that you get to choose where your dog explores. We want to see the many different things Thief River Falls has to offer throughout the year.

Whether it's enjoying a trail, visiting a local business, attending an event, exploring downtown, spending time along the river, or discovering a new community attraction, we're excited to see where your dog's adventures take them!

Does my dog have to participate during all four seasons?

Yes! The Dog Ambassador program runs for the entire year, from January 1 through December 31, 2027. We want to showcase Thief River Falls in every season—including winter, spring, summer, and fall.

What happens if I can't complete a monthly adventure?

The Dog Ambassador will be expected to fulfill the requirements outlined in the agreement with Visit TRF. If the monthly requirements are not completed, Visit TRF may determine that the Dog Ambassador is no longer eligible to continue in the program.

Can my dog participate in events or visit businesses?

Yes, when permitted! We encourage Dog Ambassadors to explore local events, businesses, attractions, parks, trails, and other community destinations. However, the dog and owner must follow all applicable rules, regulations, and individual business or event policies regarding pets.

Are there any health requirements for my dog?

Yes. The legal owner must be able to provide proof of current vaccinations and keep the dog's vaccinations up to date throughout the 2027 Dog Ambassador term. Additional health or safety requirements may be outlined in the official Dog Ambassador agreement.

What if my dog gets hurt or bites someone during an adventure?

The legal owner is responsible for their dog at all times. As outlined in the Dog Ambassador agreement, Visit TRF will not be liable or responsible for injuries, bites, accidents, property damage, losses, or other legal issues that may occur while the dog is participating in Dog Ambassador activities or adventures. The owner will be required to acknowledge and agree to the applicable liability provisions before participating in the program.

Can Visit TRF use photos of my dog?

Yes! As part of the Dog Ambassador agreement, the legal owner will grant Visit TRF permission to use submitted photographs and related content for tourism promotion, including social media, the Visit TRF website, visitor guides, advertisements, promotional materials, and other Visit TRF marketing efforts.
